This week we have several Babies for are poorly with respiratory illnesses such as chest infections, Bronchitis and Pneumonia.
We also still have some children within the 2-3’s and 3-5s’s Age Group experiencing sickness and diarrhoea. If your child is unwell at nursery and is sick, has three episodes of diarrhoea or presents a temperature, we will ask them to be collected.
A big thank you to those Parents and Carers who are continuing to work in partnership with us here at Wonderland by following our Incubation Policy below.
All members of our team are responsible for promoting good health in the children attending wonderland. If a staff member suspects a child may have any of the above, or a reaction, allergy, or temperature then they must inform the Manager, Deputy Manager, or Third in Charge. They will be asked to fill out a temperature/illness monitoring form. the senior person will assess the illness and notify the parents. If an infectious illness is suspected, then we will ask parents to arrange for their child to be collected to seek medical advice and prevent the spread of infection.
Once an infectious illness has been confirmed with a medical professional then parents should contact the nursery. The Manager can then inform all parents about the illness and symptoms to look out for by email and by posters displayed at the main entrances. the child's name will remain confidential, but we will let parents know which age group has a confirmed infectious illness. If staff are pregnant or suspect they may be pregnant we would advise them to seek medical advice if they have been exposed to an infectious illness.
In the case of a large outbreak then the nursery manager would contact the relevant authorities (environmental health, health protection agency or Ofsted) to inform them of the outbreak and seek advice and information to control the infection. Ofsted must be informed if there are two or more cases of food poisoning confirmed in children who attend Wonderland Day Nursery.
Please can we ask that all children always have a named sunhat with them at nursery. The children explore the nursery gardens throughout the nursery day, when it is safe for them to do so, however we must ensure they are also wearing a sun hat and sun cream. Please can we ask that all children always have a named sunhat with them at nursery.
Exploring how to make marks in a variety of ways, using animals to stamp through the paint as well as sensory balls. The Babies have also been exploring the stacking puzzle pieces and pop up story books.
The Toddlers have been developing their imaginative play and dress up this week, as well as their turn taking skills by working together to create towers and complete the sensory rings. Some of the Toddlers have also been searching for hidden animals around the nursery environment.
Exploring their amazing zoo animal tuff texture tray this week, as many of the children have shown lots of interest in animals this week and the story of ‘Dear Zoo.’ The 2-3’s have also been caring for the toy babies and creating their very own pictures and paintings within their Arts and Craft Area.
