This week we are following our Week 4 Autumn/Winter menu
Currently there are no planned changes to next week’s menu.
If there are any changes during the week, you will be notified on your child’s individual hand over sheet.
If your child is within the 3-5’s Age Group, this information can be found on the age groups notice board – which can be found outside the 3-5’s bathroom.
In addition to the usual coughs and colds right across the nursery, there are also the following illnesses:
Babies – unconfirmed case of Scarlet Fever. This is however being treated as Scarlet Fever with antibiotics as a precaution.
2-3’s – Conjunctivitis
3-5’s – Sickness and diarrhea
If you would like a catch up with your child’s key carer at any time or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate in giving a member of the Management Team an email to arrange this. Our doors are always open. Corrin can arrange permanent session changes and Toni is able to book in extra sessions on your behalf. Lost glasses
A pair of glasses have been found within the Icknield Centre Bathroom after the 2-3’s and 3-5’s Christmas Carol Concert.
Do they belong to you?
If so, please let a member of The Management Team know.
Continuing to explore how to their hands, fingers and other objects can make marks as well as developing their hand eye coordination by emptying and filling a range of different sized containers.
The babies have also been developing their focus when having a go at threading pipe cleaners into small containers.
Next week they will be...
Exploring construction in a variety of ways, such as using blocks and large cardboard boxes to hide animals, cars and sensory objects inside. Continuing to develop their awareness of mark making by using a range of different shaped objects to create prints in paint as well as using chalk to make marks within our garden.
Continuing to develop their imaginative play skills, whilst exploring their home area pouring cups of tea and cooking meals for each other.
Next week we will be...
Exploring their curiosity cubes and treasure baskets as well as interacting with a range of age appropriate technology toys.
Exploring their dinosaur safari swamp, developing their finger muscles whilst exploring the playdough and threading pasta as well as exploring categorising objects into groups of the same colour.
The 2-3’s have also been identifying facial features using mirrors.

Having a go at making magic positions, developing their core muscles whilst moving in a variety of ways using the obstacle course and continuing to explore how to make marks within flour.

Sharing a range of stories and interacting with push buttons and lift flap parts, as well as identifying a variety of initial sounds and even forming our names!

Creating their very own play dough. The children poured the ingrediants and measured out the flour and water. They then created their own play dough monsters and had a go at giving their monsters a certain amount of eyes which linked to numerals 1 -10.
Our STEAM activities this week have been…..
Showing interest in space and the Solar System, so they have been creating their very own planets for their Solar System! The children used paper, newspaper, and glue to begin covering balloons in sticky layers to create their 3D planets!
Our Topic focus have been…
Putting nappies on the dolls and tucking them into bed, having races on our animal hoopers, creating pasta necklaces and paintings as well as connecting and creating our car tracks whilst exploring number cardinality.

Literacy / Phonics: Aspect 6 – Voice sounds
The children will be continuing their ability to distinguish between vocal sounds as well beginning to have a go at oral blending and segmenting.
The children will be recording their own voices using our sound buttons and encouraging our peers to guess who has left the message.
The children will also continue to explore the stories of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and What Ever Next - acting out the stories and identifying repeated phrases and key words from the story.

Weighing porridge using our scales to feed to the Three Bears.
