During COVID-19 we as you know have had to create bubbles and put things in place to ensure there are no mixing of the age group bubbles. Therefore, each age group has a set collection and drop off point and different times each week. Please familiarise yourselves with your child’s new drop off and collection times as well as which entrance to use. All the details can be found on page 1 of this newsletter.

Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning! Next week at Wonderland we will be…
The babies have been…
Meeting our baby chicks now that they have hatched, exploring gluing, and sticking to create our very
own chick pictures using feathers and developing our motor movements by crawling and climbing over
the soft play blocks and our rainbow slide.
Next week we will be…
Continuing to explore different textures and continuing to develop our finger muscles by investigating ‘Gloop’ and building towers. The babies will also be developing their understanding that objects can create marks using paint and a tube to create flower pictures.
Toddlers have been…
Enjoying holding and carrying for the chicks as well as using jugs and scoops with coloured rice to develop hand eye coordination skills. The Toddlers have also been practising running on their whole feet whilst playing in the garden and developing their confidence when climbing up the steps to the nursery climbing frame.
Next week we will be…
Exploring toys with different mechanisms to develop our awareness of interactive programmes, singing a range of nursery rhymes and number songs to develop our communication, and exploring how our bodies can move whilst dancing in response to music.
The 2-3’s have been…
Creating a range of marks using different patterned printers. They have been enjoying handling and caring for the baby chicks. They have also been learning about growth and height by marking their height on the wall with chalk. They have also enjoyed a disco practicing their dance moves.
Next week we will be…
Taking part in a yoga session as well as learning new rhymes and songs. We will also be learning about shapes by searching for them in the environment. We will be painting with feathers and creating natural collages.
The 3-5’s have been…
Our new topic is – ‘Easter
Our Topic activities
have been exploring our delivery and parcel roleplay center, exploring a range of job roles and what we would like to do as a job when we grow up. We have also be exploring loose parts and nuts and bolts play.
Our Phonics focus
has been recognising our own name and segmenting and blending the letter sounds within our name.
Our Mathematical focus
has been matching numerals to quantity using bunnies and carrots and exploring our knowledge that anything can be counted.
Next week we will be…
Our new topic is – ‘People who help us’
Our Topic activities
will be exploring the role of a fire fighter. The children will be imagining that they are fire fighters and will be acting out how to respond to and put out a pretend fire.
Our Phonics focus
will be continuing to develop our confidence in recognising and forming letters within our name, segmenting and blending a range of CVC words such as hat and cat to develop our interests in reading simple words.
Our Mathematical focus
will be exploring patterns using a variety of different coloured buttons, counting bunny hops when pretending to move like a bunny rabbit and exploring capacity and size in a variety of hands-on ways.
