This week we are following our yummy Week 4 Autumn/Winter menu.
There are no planned changes. If anything changes throughout the week these will be communicated with you via your child’s individual hand over sheet.
Zoo Lab
We are delighted to confirm Zoo Lab have rebooked their visit to nursery on the morning of Thursday 4th November. Zoo Lab will be bringing a range of animal / insect visitors into nursery for the children to explore and learn about.
Keep an eye on your child’s Tapestry account to see the children enjoying this session.
We are pleased to confirm we have booked ‘ElGood Photography’ to attend Wonderland on 16th November. If you would like your child to have a change of outfit for their photo, please place this in a named carrier bag and let your child’s key-carer know on their arrival to nursery that day.
If your child does not attend Wonderland on a Tuesday and you wish for them to still have their picture taken, please email emmaedwards@wonderlandnursery.co.uk to arrange a time that you can pop in with your child. Nearer the time, we will allocate times to those parents and children who are ‘popping in.’
Throughout the month of November, we are providing the opportunity for you to book a ‘catch up’ with your child’s key carer. This will be a 15-minute Zoom meeting where you can talk to your child’s key carer about your child’s progression and ask any questions you may have.

It’s coming to that time of year again where Wonderland raise’s money for Children In Need! We will be wearing PJY’s for a day, dressing up as our favourite superheroes, selling cakes, selling teas and coffee’s, encouraging the children to take on a sponsored challenge such as taking part in a dance a thon and sponsoring our staff members to take on daily challenges.

Exploring pumpkins and using Halloween stamps to develop their understanding of how to make marks as well as exploring crazy foam play.
Next week we will be...
Creating their very own firework pictures using paint and tools to create a range of marks, exploring the sensory tent to explore their senses and different textures, chalk drawings during their garden play and exploring the messy play trays.
Creating a range of Halloween crafts using their hands and feet as well as other mark making equipment and textures. As well developing their awareness of environmental sounds whilst exploring the nursery garden. The Toddlers then experimented with making their own sounds using their bodies, toys and other equipment they could find. The Toddlers have also been developing their communication skills by singing a variety of nursery rhymes.
Next week we will be...
Creating firework pictures, moving their whole bodies to music and exploring colour in a variety of ways. The Toddlers will also be exploring the story of Dear Zoo and meeting the insects and animals bought into nursery via Zoo Lab.
Taking part in lots of different Halloween themed activities this week. The children have particularly enjoyed creating their very own Halloween potions, using tools to mix and stir their potions whilst exploring the colour changes in their water. The children have also been investigating their Halloween spaghetti whilst finding hidden spiders. The children then used their Mathematical language to count how many spiders they found. Finally, the children have also enjoyed baking and decorating their very own Halloween biscuits.
Next week we will be...
The children will be making firework pictures using flowers and creating sparkly mobiles using CD’s and glitter. The children will also be exploring a small world tuff tray learning about animals and their habitats.

Our Topic activities has been…
Creating their very own insect houses using twigs, sticks and leaves as well as using scissors carefully to have a go at following different shaped lines to reach Autumnal objects.
Our Phonics focus has been…Identifying and recognising our own names, having a go at forming recognisable letters and giving meaning to the marks we make, identifying the sounds of letters and feeding them to our letter monster!
Our Mathematical focus has been… Creating pictures and models using our 2d shapes as well as matching and recognising numbered pumpkins with their corresponding number of pumpkin seeds.

Our new topic is – Black History Month, Fireworks and Diwali!
The children will be sharing the stories of Rosa Parks, Pele and Martin Luther King to develop their knowledge about influential black figures from the past as well as learning about the story of Rama and Sita and creating their very own Rangoli patterns and Diya Lamps.
Our Phonics focus will be…
Forming letters and patterns using our fingers in coloured trays of rice, practicing segmenting, and blending a range of CVC words such as c-a-t and h-a-t.
Our Mathematical focus will be…
Using 2d shapes to create patterns and colourful shape pictures to create own very own Rangoli patterns, recognising numerals 1 – 10 and matching these to the correct amount of conkers.
