Supporting Transitions to ‘Big school!’

The time is fast approaching where some of our 3-5 children will be beginning their transition onto ‘big school.’ All of the children who we know will be making this transition will receive a transition document to provided by Wonderland to give a range of ideas and ways to support this transition.

If you have not yet received a copy, please ask one of the 3-5’s Team and we will sort this for you. We have also attached an electronic copy to this email.

Bringing food and drink into nursery

Could we please take this opportunity in reminding all our parents and carers to not send their children into nursery with any food or drink. As well as ensuring your children’s clothing and faces are also clean. At Wonderland we have many children who have several life-threatening allergies to a variety of foods and drinks. Not only can some of these children be allergic to ingesting certain foods they also have touch sensitive allergies to these foods and drinks too. Therefore, it is imperative that we all do our best to keep all the children at Wonderland safe.

Naming children’s clothing

Recently we have had a number of items of clothing that have gone missing within the nursery. As you can imagine we have so many items of clothing which are all very similar.

Please could we kindly ask for your children’s items to be named. This will really support the staff team trying to locate the missing items and returning these to you. Thank you with your cooperation.

Late collections

We completely understand that on occasion you may be late to collect your child due to being held up at work or another unplanned change. As a one off you will not be charged. However, if this becomes a regular occurrence you will be charged a late collection fee due to our staff having to stay later than the end of their shift time. Our staff already work a long day so please could we ask you all to try your best to collect your children at the end of their nursery time.

The Babies have been...

Making the most of the sunshine by exploring their garden in a variety of ways. They have been traveling up and down the slide, crawling through their tunnel, making marks using chubby chalks and going on walks of the local environment. The Babies have also been playing Peek-A-Boo and Roll The Ball to develop their social interaction. Finally, the Babies have also been taking part in dip tasting where they explored their likes and dislikes with a range of dips, such as hummus.
